Hi readers - Sorry that I haven't updated scoopgirl lately, but with the 4th of July holiday weekend and being sick last week, it's been tough. But I'm back in action and you can count on scoopgirl to continue giving you the latest scoop!

Before I get to the scoop, I'd like to acknowledge the atrocities that occurred in London earlier this week. It's awful and my thoughts and prayers are with all impacted by this tragedy.

Bennifer 2.0 marries!

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, who are expecting their first child together this fall, married Wednesday in the Caribbean islands of Turks and Caicos, Us Weekly reports.

No confirmation yet from their publicists, but the word is starting to get out. What this means - we THINK it's true, but we aren't POSITIVE yet.

And, I know, the link I gave you does go to the Enquirer, but E! Online (source) and US both claimed the wedding also. So, figured I'd throw in a fun one, so you could read it and enjoy.

Tom Cruise does not believe in psychiatry, but does believe in aliens

According to E! Online:

Tom Cruise telling a German newspaper that "of course" he believes in aliens. "Are you really so arrogant as to believe we are alone in this universe?" Cruise said in the interview. "No, there are many things out there, we just don't know." Cruise's alien-themed War of the Worlds opens today.

Tom's getting some feedback

The American Psychiatric Association criticizing Tom Cruise for his recent comments on the Today show, where he called psychiatry a "pseudo science."

"It is irresponsible for Mr. Cruise to use his movie publicity tour to promote his own ideological views and deter people with mental illness from getting the care they need," APA President Dr. Steven Sharfstein said in a statement.

Is this ridiculous - the fuss they are making over Oprah's snub? And WHY in the world is Tom Cruise involved? Check this out - Tom is SHOCKED and is calling Oprah to apologize about this incident!

But forget Tom - back to Oprah. Her good buddy Gayle King said that the incident was one of the MOST humiliating moments in Oprah's life! Oh PUH-LEASE. Because she was not allowed in a store when she arrived after it already closed?

Tom Cruise really stirring it up

Tom is still at it. Still criticizing Brooke Shields for her use of medication and psychiatry. So Scientology makes sense, but seeing a psychiatrist doesn't? Ok......

Apparently, Tom is an expert.

....Lauer mentioned Cruise's earlier criticism of Brooke Shields for taking anti-depressants. Cruise told Lauer he didn't know what he was talking about. "You don't know the history of psychiatry. I do," Cruise said.

Also, apparently, Scientologists think psychiatry is barbaric and corrupt - some info I found on Scientology:

encouraging development of the human spirit. Providing counseling and rehabilitation programs, the Church offers itself as an alternative to psychiatry, which Scientologists believe to be a barbaric and corrupt profession.

Who's Eva dating today?

Looks like Eva Longoria is still dating Tony Parker. She was spotted giving him a big congratulatory hug after the Spurs won the NBA Finals on Thursday night.


In US magazine, there's also a pic of her and Kiefer Sutherland together, but they are shooting a movie together, so maybe it's just an on-set friendship. I could see her with Justin Timberlake for some reason. Seems like he'd be into her.
